Learn all about the grades and types of acne
Acne, also known as common acne, is an inflammatory skin disease that is caused by a bacterial infection of the latter due to changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and associated sebaceous gland) and is a congregation of matter.
Acne is classified into different levels related to the severity of the lesions, essential for treatment:
Mild acne: The main lesions are not inflammatory.
The papules and pustules may occur, but they are small and few, generally less than 10.
Moderate acne, there is a greater number of papules, pustules and comedones between 10 and 40.
The trunk can also be affected.
Moderately severe acne, there are numerous papules and pustules from 40 to 100, usually with deep infiltrating and nodular lesions. The affected skin areas also extend to the face, torso and back.
Severe acne: in this group the nodular acne and acne conglobata many nodular lesions characterized by large, painful, pustular lesions, together with many small papules, pustules and comedones.
Types of acne
Acne vulgaris: is the one that is characterized by the presence of comedones, papules, pustules, Acne No More cysts and nodules on the face neck upper trunk and shoulders. Is typical of adolescents, according to the intensity of the lesions was speaking of various types.
Acne comedo or Comedonicus: Only the seborrhoeic skin with numerous comedones. It is the mildest form.

Atrophic acne: Sometimes papular acne, especially if severe, leaving small voids evolves on the skin and scars
Acne conglobata: This is characterized by the presence of numerous large comedones, some of them double or triple major abscesses with fistulas that communicate with each other inflammatory cysts and nodules.
Premenstrual acne: This refers to acne lesions that appear or worsen during the period prior to menstruation in women. It is due to hormonal changes that occur in this period of the menstrual cycle.
Acne Neonatorum, or acne of the newborn.
Queloideo Acne: It is characterized by the residual scars. It is more common in the Black and Oriental races.
Tropical acne, acne particularly strong variety which occurs in tropical regions with warm and humid climate. It is characterized predominantly affects back, buttocks and thighs, while respecting the face.
Contact Acne: It is due to skin contact, on a voluntary or involuntary, of substances that favor the formation of comedones. This is the case of workers in some industrial sectors that are in contact with chlorinated hydrocarbons (chloracne), petroleum oils or resins.
