How safe is the St Lucia volcano?
When booking my St Lucia Holiday from the Kenwood Travel agency during the close of last month, I was surprised to discover that tourists are able to get very close to the island’s La Soufriere volcano despite the fact that it is one that is considered to be “active” by geologists. I am sure that there are plenty of statistics out there which can confirm the unlikelihood of an eruption whilst travellers are bathing in the nearby natural mud baths (heated by the volcano’s core lava) but still...I can’t say that I will not be nervous during my time up close to La Soufriere!
